Statement of Faith
What We Believe
A Simple Doctrinal Statement
Salvation
We believe salvation must be personally received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ. A person can “get saved” without church membership, without any good works, and without baptism.
Acts 16:30-31 “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Baptism
We believe baptism is for believers only and is by full immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Not part of salvation, but the first step in following the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Eternal Security
We believe that once a person has been born again (saved), they can never lose that eternal salvation. Our salvation is not kept by our works but by the finished work of Calvary.
John 10:28-29 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
Bible
We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the perfect, inspired, preserved Word of God and are contained in the 1611 Authorized King James Version.
Psalms 12:6 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
Trinity
We believe God is a triune being consisting of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Not 3 separate “Gods” but 1 God in three persons.
I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
Heaven and Hell
We believe in a literal Heaven with the Lord and a literal, burning Hell for the unsaved.
John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
Luke 16:23 “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
Separated Life
We believe that Christians are to be separate from the world in their dress, conduct, hobbies, and lifestyle.
II Corinthians 6:17 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
Music
We believe our music should be spiritual, not sensual, and not conformed to the world. We do not use any type of “rock” music in our church services. Rather our music is from the hymnbook and very traditional.
Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Two Biblical Offices – Bishops and Deacons
We believe in male leadership in the church.
I Timothy 3:1 “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.”
Marriage
We believe marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman. We believe that the practice of sodomy or “homosexuality” is still an abomination against the Lord.
Leviticus 18:22 “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”
Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Saints
We believe the saved people of the Earth will be raptured before the coming 7 Year Tribulation. After these 7 years, Jesus Christ will physically return to this earth and set up His Kingdom for 1,000 years. After this period, and the final battle between God and Satan, there will be the Great White Throne Judgment and God will create a “new heaven and a new earth”. Revelation 20 and 21.
I Thessalonians 4:17 “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
